It is time to round up the best gas grids for 2019 to $500 (between $300 and $500). Little has changed in this segment, as several stable models control the chicken coop.
Let’s not be hasty. Use the table of contents below to navigate through this overview, or simply read from top to bottom.
What to expect from a gas barbecue under $500
This is an interesting price range for gas barbecues, as you can choose from a pleasant variety of options. Do you want something portable? I get it, I get it, I get it. You want to throw a party the size of a monster? And here, too.
In fact, the dimensions you can choose from vary greatly depending on the brand and quality, from the modest 360 square inch large grill area of the Weber Spirit E210 to the huge 650 square inch area of the Broil K6B.
Ultimately, your choice depends on your budget, your wishes and the importance you attach to quality rather than quantity. We have selected a winner in this price segment, but look at the other candidates.
Here are the best $500 gas barbecues for 2019, starting with our favorite van and going down from there.
OUR BEST SELECTION OF GAS GRILLS FOR $500:
Weber Required II E210/E310
Classic Weber Spirit II
Yes, there are two grills, but the Spirit series is very similar in terms of performance and design, and they all offer excellent quality for less than $500. Here is a short overview to explain the difference.
The Weber Spirit II E210 is a complete but compact gas barbecue, ideal for people with limited space (think of balconies and small terraces).
Two stainless steel burners provide 26,500 BTU on a 450 square inch hob. The grids are made of cast iron covered with porcelain enamel. Thanks to the electronic ignition, your burners can work without any problems and you have two folding side tables at your disposal. On these tables you get a total of 6 tool hooks, so you have a lot of barbecue products at hand.
Grill characteristics include
- feasible installation
- high-quality construction
- good heat for two burners
- large cast iron lattice
- compact with foldable side tables
- The GS4 grating system
- Compatible with iGrill 3
- 10-year warranty
Weber Spirit II E210 is an excellent gas barbecue. It’s easy to use without redundancy, but has all the features you need to prepare a delicious meal. The compact size and the large amount of heat generated by two modest burners underline the quality of the design you are dealing with. A grill is highly recommended if the cooking space is adapted to your needs. Although the car might have been a little stronger.
The Spirit II E210 is a worthy replacement for the good old Spirit E210. It offers more grill space, the same GS4 grill system used in the high-end Genesis II series and a fantastic guarantee. The grill is also available in 4 different colors (I like red) if you want to take a break from black and grey.

The spirit of Weber II E310
The Weber Spirit II E310 model offers an additional burner and more cooking space than the E210 model.
If you need to cook more, the Weber Spirit II E310 is the big brother of the E210 with the same high quality. It has a large area of 529 square centimetres and 3 burners that provide a thermal capacity of 30,000 BTU.
Each of these two products will give you years of BBQ fun and they are the best $500 gas barbecues you can buy. Keep in mind that the E310 should not always cost less than $500, but at the time of writing this article it was below this threshold.
It is also available in 4 colours.

Weber Q3200Portable gas grill
It’s a party baby and the only portable grill. Weber Q3200 provides a 393 square inch cooking surface, powered by two 21,700 BTU stainless steel burners. Your meal will rest on enamelled cast-iron porcelain gratings. You get an electronic ignition, a fully adjustable burner valve, a thermometer, a drip chamber and two removable folding tables with hooks for tools.
Although it is called a portable device, it should rather be considered as an intermediary between a portable device and a stand-alone device. It’s about as long as a portable grill, until it’s almost no longer portable. The Q3200 is perfect for anyone who wants it:
– High quality design
– family cooktop combined (only) with portability
– smart and practical design
The Weber Q3200 is an excellent gas barbecue and has an 89% satisfaction rating on Amazon.com. This is a reliable small barbeque animal that should give you years of excellent service. Although it costs the same as the larger and superior E210 model, it can only be recommended for its small size and proven reliability and performance.

Infrared cuff TRU Signature 525 4-pot
Char-Broil always has an excellent price/quality ratio and the TRU 525 infrared heater is no exception. This is a large 4-burner grill that offers excellent value for money in this price segment.
You get a full-size grill with a 525 square inch cooking surface and a handy heating rack that provides an extra 200 square centimetres of space. The burners are made of stainless steel, so they should have a long service life. They offer 32,000 Btu for 4 burners, while the side burner offers 13,000 Btu.
Char-Broil infrared grills naturally use a special grid above the burners, which distributes heat more evenly, eliminates cold spots and prevents splashing. It sounds like great ideals, but in reality it works pretty well, and since I am a full-fledged Weber personality, I love Char-Broil infrared. I think you’ll like it, too, once you try.
The big disadvantage of this ready-to-use grid is that it is not very easy to install. Some confusing instructions, combined with locations that are difficult to reach, cause problems. So prepare a helper, preferably someone who has already collected gas barbecues.
I am worried about the rusting of the cast iron grids, but time will tell if there will be problems or not. As always with char grills, you don’t get the quality of Weber, but you get a very powerful grill that gives excellent results. It’s a good choice in this segment if you like a bigger grill, $400 to $500.

Dina-Glo 5-burner gas barbecue 62,000 BTU
Dyna-Glo has been present in the grill market for several years and has established itself as a popular brand at lower cost. They are part of the GHP group, which has a long history of producing products related to fire and heat (stoves, stoves, etc.).
In this price range, the Dyna-Glo DGE gas grill deserves your attention. This is a 5-burner (50,000 BTU) unit with a 530 square inch main working area and a 12,000 BTU side burner. The total cooking surface is 708 square centimetres, which makes it a fairly large unit.
It is equipped with stainless steel kitchen grids, heating grids and heating tents to add flavor and protect the burners. The retractable propane bottle holder is a nice gesture.
There is a sense of quality in this product, although it does not contain much stainless steel (most steels are painted to look stainless), so you will end up being damaged by rust.
The assembly instructions are well written and all parts are packed separately. The grease trap can be removed for easy cleaning. The design offers more depth, so there is less glare and more room to grill. The grill heats up quickly and offers a lot of heat.
The main disadvantage of this product is that it has a space at the back and the Char Broil device at the bottom. The company spokesman said it was necessary to control the heat for safety reasons, which is somewhat questionable because a lot of heat is lost in this way and the grill has difficulty maintaining 450-550 degrees. This gap can of course be filled by a simple adjustment at home.
If high-temperature grilling is your thing, it can’t work, even if it heats up quickly at full power. Otherwise it’s a good grill for a decent price, but you don’t come close to the mileage your Weber would pay. You benefit from a general guarantee of 1 year and a guarantee of 5 years on the burner.

Final remarks for the Best Gas Barbecue for $500
Now you have at least five solid options for a gas grill under $500. Our personal choice for the best $500 gas barbecue is the Weber Spirit II E310. About $100 more than you’d pay for a twin E-210 burner, you get three burners and more cooking surface. If you do not need extra space, E210 is sufficient. Both gratings belong to their class in this segment in terms of construction quality and durability.
As a more portable version of Weber, the Q3200 makes a lot of sense and offers you the reliability and performance of Weber and a reasonable space to cook. He weighs about 20 pounds less than E210.
Finally the monsters. They’re of great value if you need space. If you’re looking for large-scale entertainment, you should probably look like this. I think the Char-Broil TRU 525 infrared radiator is a good choice. Again, it won’t take as long as with Weber, so there will be bribery.
We hope the information on this page will help you choose the grill that suits you best!
